The final choice out of my sketches was by far the most vibrant and full of life, which made for a really fun painting process, toeing the line of real and abstract.
I also reaaally love how the cover looks in print; it's embossed and iridescent which makes it such a joy to hold.
I'd love to make prints like this some day.

Sketch 2
This idea ultimately made it's way into the final cover. I feel it does a great job of portraying mankinds relationship with the ocean, the mix of wonder temptation and fear.

Sketch 3
Similar lines of thought to the last one, but with a quiet stillness. I like how unclear the merpeople's intent is.
